Artist's Description

We visited Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks in early summer of a high snow year. So much of the backcountry was still inaccessible. But the hike to Tokepeh falls was clear and lovely. We hiked along this creek nearly the entire time and in the early morning light, this pine tree hiding behind a small rapid caught my attention.

About Kelly VanDellen

Kelly VanDellen

I am a photographer currently living in Athens, GA, but I prefer to be found in the woods. Or swimming with sea turtles. My photography centers around National Parks and wilderness areas with a broad range of regions, including the Smokies (the closest park to me), California (Joshua Tree, Death Valley), the West (Zion, Arches, Canyonlands, Bryce), and the Pacific Northwest (Redwoods, Crater Lake, Mount Rainier). I visit 5-20 parks every year and countless other recreational areas.
